Westbike Messenger: The Future of Logistics is SEPEDA!
The second I-SEA Peer Learning was held on August 12, 2022. This session was attended not only by I-SEA Changemakers, but also by representatives of IKEA Indonesia. In this session, Omar Stamboel and Reza Adhiatma (Eca) from Westbike Messenger Service (WMS) got their turn to share stories.
Starting as a bicycle shop and community, WMS has now grown into a logistics service with hundreds of bicycle couriers spread across six cities in Indonesia; Jakarta, Bogor, South Tangerang, Bandung, Surabaya, and Medan. Eca, who has been a bicycle courier for WMS since 2014, shared his ups and downs in this profession; starting from the harsh Jakarta weather to competing with online motorcycle taxis.
Westbike Messenger x Duitin
For those who live in Jakarta and South Tangerang, currently, you can donate recycled waste without producing emissions! Through the Duitin WA Center (081511192019) and Westbike Messenger Service WA Center (081993782453), you can order a pick-up of recycled waste without producing carbon emissions. WMS riders will pick up the recycled waste using their cargo bike.
You just need to store your recyclables in a cardboard box and pay a pick-up fee of IDR 30,000,- via transfer or QR code when the WMS Rider arrives at your location. You won’t get rewards, but you can donate recycled waste to Duitin in a more environmentally friendly way. Zero waste, zero emissions!
