Knock, knock! We have some exciting news from I-SEA Changemakers!

Hi Social Enterprise Founders!

After officially welcoming the I-SEA Changemakers to the Instellar & IKEA Social Entrepreneurship Indonesia Accelerator (I-SEA) through the Program Launch last April, we are glad to see how they have bloomed until today. We have gathered some exciting news about our I-SEA Changemakers! Are you ready to dig a little deeper about it?

The I-SEA Changemakers are active in four sectors: circular economy, waste management, agriculture, and logistics. They are DuitinGreenieKoinpackKulaku IndonesiaLiberty SocietyPlepahQyosRumah MocafSustaination, and Westbike Messenger.


Learn the I-SEA Changemakers’ Journey
As we said before, many intriguing things happened in the cohort. As a social enterprise, our cohort reached remarkable milestones too! Here are some of them:

  1. Koinpack’s Co-Founder, Bintang Ekananda, has been honored as one of the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2022 (Social Impact)
  2. Westbike Messenger is now partnering with Lazada Logistics to run the Blue Sky Project to support environmentally friendly package delivery. This initiative aims to reduce the carbon footprint in shipping packages to Lazada Indonesia customers.
  3. Plepah got seed fundingfrom BRI Ventures.
  4. Liberty Society had a chance to participate in AVPN Conference 2022 in Bali. Tamara Gondo, the CEO of Liberty Society became one of the speakers on one of the panels, Accelerating Solution in the Sustainable Tourism and Creative Economy.
  5. Kulaku Indonesia launched theIntegrated Coconut Derivatives Factory, in Pondok Pesantren Sabilul Hasanah, Banyuasin, South Sumatera.
  6. Duitin pickers can collect disposable diaper waste around Jakarta and South Tangerang.

On June 18th, 2022, our I-SEA Changemakers had their first offline meet-up in the I-SEA Peer Learning at the South Coffee, South Jakarta. The Plépah team, represented by Rengkuh Banyu Mahandaru and Almira Zulfikar, shared their experiences in getting seed funding from BRI Ventures. “This is a space for Plépah to validate the concept of a sustainable business that can continue to grow,” Rengkuh said. 

Through Peer Learning, I-SEA Changemakers shared stories and discussed many interesting topics, from business to environmental sustainability! The upcoming peer learning session will be in August with more engaging topics!
